Description

SPIO Lumbar Sacral Orthosis (LSO)

The Lumbar Sacral Orthosis (LSO) | Available in Michigan USA

The SPIO Lumbar Sacral Orthosis (LSO) is ideal for those with poor core muscle activation, stabilization, or weakness. Children with the diagnosis of Severe Axial Hypotonia, Athetoid Quadriplegia, Spinal Muscular Atrophy, or Benign Anterior Horn Cell Disease may benefit from the use of the SPIO® Lumbar Sacral Orthosis.

How to Use:

Measure each child according to the Sizing Guidelines for a good fit, never select a size for your patient based on “eye-balling” the SPIO® Orthosis. For the fitting, the child can be standing, sitting, or lying down on their back, depending on the child’s comfort level. Attach the panel, pull the Lumbar Sacral Orthosis down over the hips and wrap the panel snugly around the patient. The Lumbar Sacral Orthosis should fit snug and firm. You may have to adjust it a few times after the initial donning to optimize the fit. If you slip your hand under the abdominal area, with proper tension, you should feel a snug compression.

Material

  • Lycra/Nylon Fabric.
  • Microperforated Neoprene.
  • 1″ Hook and Loop.
  • 100% Latex-Free.

More Information

The SPIO Lumbar Sacral Orthosis LSO Core Stabilizer offers high-quality stability for the lower back, accommodating users with a variety of conditions affecting their core muscles. The comfortable trunk support is ideal for users with poor core muscle activation, stabilization, or weakness due to conditions like severe axial hypotonia, athetoid quadriplegia, spinal muscular atrophy, or benign anterior horn cell disease.

This support provides a snug fit that provides firm compression to stabilize the lumbar-sacral spine and trunk. The microperforated neoprene construction ensures maximum compression while promoting airflow to keep users cool and comfortable. Hook and loop closures make application and adjustment simple to provide an optimized fit for each user.
