Overview
The Courtney Bed gives people who are at risk of falls, wandering or unsafe movement at night a secure, comfortable place to sleep. A solid hardwood frame holds four independent high-sided fabric panels, padded at the interior corners, around a solid mattress platform with no slats or moving parts. A patented safety zipper sheath keeps the zipper heads out of reach from inside the bed. The bed comes open-topped, and an optional mesh top can be added at the start or later as needs change.
Because each panel can be removed on its own, the bed is easy to clean and only a damaged panel needs replacing. The height, width and enclosure options can be adjusted as a child grows, so the same bed can serve from early childhood into adulthood.

The Courtney Bed is made by Courtney Bed, Inc. Healthcare DME is the medical equipment supplier: we handle the insurance and Medicaid process and arrange delivery.
Is the Courtney Bed covered by Medicaid or insurance?
Yes, for patients who qualify. Healthcare DME supplies the Courtney Bed only through health insurance and Medicaid, when a doctor prescribes it as medically necessary. We are an in-network durable medical equipment supplier with Medicaid in Alaska, Arizona (AHCCCS), Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Montana, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Utah and Washington, and with Michigan health plans including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Blue Care Network, Blue Cross Complete, Meridian, McLaren Health Plan, Health Alliance Plan (HAP), AmeriHealth Caritas Michigan, CareSource, Physicians Health Plan, Ambetter, WellCare, Humana PPO and Zing Health.
Most plans approve a safety bed through prior authorization. Approval depends on the patient’s diagnosis and the safety risks the doctor documents, so it is never guaranteed, but our team knows what plans look for and prepares the request with you. See every plan we accept.
